2011년 인구조사에서 캘거리시의 인구는 109만6833명으로 전체 알버타 주민 364만5257명 중 30%를 차지했으며, 캐나다 전체 인구 3347만6688명에 비해 3%를 차지했다.[22] 캘거리 인구조사 대도시권(CMA)의 총 인구는 121만4839명이었다.[23] 캘거리([22]Calgary)는 알버타에서 가장 큰 도시로서, 2016년 현재 캐나다에서 세 번째로 큰 자치단체와 네 번째로 큰 대도시 지역이다.[23][24]

시민 인구 조사

앨버타 시정부법(MGA) 57조는 자치단체가 검열을 실시할 수 있도록 하고 있다.[25] 캘거리 시는 1931년에 처음으로 도시 인구 조사, 즉 시민 인구 조사를 실시했다.[26] 1958년부터 매년 시민 인구 조사를 실시하고 있다.[26]

캘거리의 2016년 시민 인구 조사에 따르면 인구는 138만1,345명이다.[27] 2011년부터 2012년까지, 2011년 도시 인구 조사 인구 109만 936명보다 2.7%가 증가했다.[28][29] 시는 2011년 시민 인구조사 이후 자연증가 9,631명, 순이주 1만9,658명 등의 영향으로 주민 2만9,289명이 증가한 것으로 분석했다.[30] 2012년 시민 인구 조사에서도 도시 내 총 459,339채의 주거지를 기록했다.[30]

성장과 밀도

2006~2011년 캘거리시 인구는 캘거리 CMA가 12.6% 증가한 것에 비해 10.9% 증가했으며 같은 기간 앨버타는 10.8%, 캐나다는 5.9%의 증가율을 보였다.[35][36] With land areas of 825.29 km2 (318.65 sq mi) and 5,107.55 km2 (1,972.04 sq mi) for the city and CMA respectively, the population density was 1,329.027/km2 (3,442.165/sq mi) for the city and 237.8516/km2 (616.0328/sq mi) for the CMA in 2011.[35]
