PSFL(Python Software Foundation License)은 GNU GPL([1]General Public License)과 호환되는 BSD 스타일의 허용 소프트웨어 라이센스입니다.Python 프로젝트 소프트웨어 및 문서 [2]배포에 주로 사용됩니다.라이선스는 허용되기 때문에 파생상품의 소유화를 허용합니다.PSFL은 FSF의 승인된 라이선스 [1]목록과 OSI의 승인된 라이선스 목록 모두에 승인된 것으로 기재되어 있습니다.
2000년에 Python(특히 버전 2.1)은 GPL과 호환되지 않는 Python License에서 잠시 사용할 수 있었습니다.Free Software Foundation이 이러한 비호환성에 대해 제시한 이유는 "이 Python 라이센스는 미국 버지니아 주([3]州)의 법률에 의해 관리되고 있으며 GPL은 이를 허용하지 않기 때문입니다."
