동물보호단체(IDA)는 1983년 미국 캘리포니아주 샌 라파엘에서 설립된 동물보호단체입니다. 이 단체의 슬로건은 "동물의 권리, 복지, 그리고 서식지를 보호하기 위해 노력하는 것"입니다.[1]

역사

수의사인 엘리엇 M. 카츠(Elliot M. 동물원의 코끼리에 대한 행동

IDA는 2004년 샌프란시스코 동물원에 코끼리를 보호구역으로 옮기도록 압력을 넣었다고 주장했습니다.[31] 하지만, 동물원은 IDA가 코끼리들을 옮기기로 한 결정과 "거의 관련이 없다"고 주장했습니다.[32]
