부분적 장 우회술은 총 소장의 길이를 줄이기 위해 이룸을 짧게 하는 수술이다.[1]

1962년 미국 미네소타대 헨리 부크왈드 교수가 처음 도입한 [2]이 시술은 가족성 고철혈소증을 비롯한 다수의 고지혈증을 치료하는 데 사용된다.[3][4]바이패스 수술과 표준 관리를 비교한 유일한 무작위 통제 실험은 Buchwald와 그의 팀이 시행한 POSCH 실험이었다.이 재판은 1975년에서 1983년 사이에 진행되었으며 심장마비에서 살아남은 838명의 남성들을 포함했다.이 실험은 처음에는 사망률에 대한 어떠한 유익성도 보여주지 못했지만, 1998년 후속 결과는 콜레스테롤 수치와 질병 사건에 대한 알려진 유익성 외에도 치료 그룹의 사망률을 감소시켰다는 것을 보여주었다.[5]

일레 우회술은 가장 흔한 초콜로스테롤레미아에 대한 효과적인 경구용 약물 도입 이전에 주로 시행되었다.[6]비만의 외과적 치료에 가끔 사용된다.[7]

모든 결절제술과 마찬가지로, 담즙산의 섭취가 감소하여 경미한 스테이터레아가 발생할 수 있다.
