캔버라 코로나바이러스 야전병원은 2020년 COVID-19 대유행 사태에 대비해 만들어진 호주 캔버라의 임시 병원이다.[1]이 병원은 캔버라 소재 임시 병원 건립 전문기업인 [2]아스펜메디칼이 건립했으며,[3] 기존 캔버라 병원 캠퍼스 북동쪽 가란오벌에 위치해 있다.[4]

역사

이 프로젝트는 2020년 4월 9일에 발표되었다.[5]당시 캔버라에서 84명의 환자가 COVID-19 진단을 받았으며 이 중 9명은 병원에 입원해 있었다.[6]그 날[7][8] 공사가 시작되었고 2,300만 달러가 들 것으로 예상되었다.[9]2020년 5월 21일 37일간의 공사 끝에 개원했다.[10][11]그 직후인 2020년 5월 24일, ACT 보건 당국은 이 지역에서 발생한 주요 발병의 성공적인 예방으로 인해 병원이 여전히 사용되지 않을 것이라고 발표했다.[12]이것은 또한 이 프로젝트의 비용을 1400만 달러로 낮출 것이다.[13][14]2021년 2월 14일, ACT 정부는 "가란 서지 센터"라고 불리는 이 병원이 화이자 백신을 위한 캔버라의 백신 접종 허브가 될 것이라고 발표했다.[15]

이 시설은 200명의 의료진이 상주하며 캔버라의 의료시스템에 44개의[16] 병상과 6개의 소생베이를[17] 추가해 50개에서 170개 병상으로 중환자실 용량을 3배로 늘리려는 ACT 정부의 노력이 주요 역할을 하게 된다.[18]또한, 이를 캔버라 병원으로 연결하는 전력, 수도, 하수도와 같은 기반 시설과 덮개식 보행로가 이 시설을 위해 건설될 예정이다.[17]
