메타페프라몬(INN, dimethylcathinone, dimethylpropion, dimepropion(BAN)이라고도 한다)은 페네틸아민, 카티논 화학 등급의 흥분제다.디메틸카티논은 식욕억제제, 저혈압 치료제로 평가받았지만 결코 널리 시판되지 않았다.[2]
이스라엘에서 '레이크펫'이라는 이름으로 레크리에이션 약물로 쓰였으나 2006년 불법으로 만들어졌다.[3]
메타페프라몬은 대사 작용을 통해 N-메틸프세우데프린과 메카티논을 생산한다.[4]또한 메카티논에 비해 약 1.6배 낮은 위력으로 밝혀져 카티논 자체를 거의 무력하게 만들었다.[5]
