알파-1 아드레날린 수용체 서브타입은 알파-1A, -1B, -1D 등 3가지로 Gq/11 G단백질 계열을 통한 신호와 다른 서브타입은 각기 다른 활성화 패턴을 보인다.그것들은 유사성 반응을 활성화시키고 많은 세포의 성장과 증식을 조절한다.
유전자
이 유전자는 알파-1B-아드레날린 수용체를 암호화하는 것으로, NIH 3T3 섬유질 및 기타 세포 라인에 감염되면 신소성 변형을 유도한다.따라서, 이 정상적인 세포 유전자는 원생 유전자로 확인된다.이 유전자는 2 exon과 최소 20 kb의 하나의 큰 인트로 구성되어 코딩 영역을 방해한다.[5]
