'frizzzed' 유전자 계열의 구성원들은 Wnt 신호 단백질의 수용기인 7-transmbrane 영역 단백질을 암호화한다. FZD2 유전자의 발현은 태아 신장과 폐, 성인 대장 및 난소에서 발현량이 높은 등 발달적으로 조절되는 것으로 보인다.[7]
